Sheryl Underwood is an American comedian, TV host and actor best known for hosting the popular daily talk show The Talk. Sheryl was born in Arkansas and was raised in Little Rock, Atwater, and Atwater. Sheryl has a turbulent family. She spent most of her growing up taking care of her sister Frankie who was afflicted by an illness called polio. She was in issues with her mother when growing up. Sheryl says that at one point her mom cut her father for being too close to him. Sheryl was a soldier shortly after graduating from her college. Sheryl's passion for comedy was evident. She was chosen as the first woman to be a finalist in the Miller Lite Comedy Search, which was held in 1989. In 1992, she began her TV debut with regular appearances on the HBO show Def Comedy Jam. She hosted the show in 2000. The show Oh Drama! Then in 2011, she started participating in The Talk as co-host. Also, she's appeared in fictitious programs like Bulworth Niki and Beauty Shop.
