Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She has written fifteen books, and she is co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television personality and owner of the independently free online news publication The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was in Greece and moved to England when she was sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in Economics. The first non-English student, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. Following after her college graduation, she became a prominent Conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present politics. Her popularity enabled her to get a variety of stars to voice their views on current events, political and culture. Arianna's fame started in 2003, after she declared herself an independent candidate for the California recall vote in order to replace the then governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna was also the leader of the Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient vehicles. She was named The Most Popular Women in Media by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th spot on this list. The same year, the Guardian named her on the Top 100 Media List. In 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her president of that media group which included many then-existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. She was very close with her father. However, it was her relationship with her mother which formed her. Through her early period, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which her name is still well-known. When she was 16 years old her family moved in the United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined the college debating group Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was awarded. She worked as a critic, a TV host and a columnist after her graduation. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She began to write books and enlisting his assistance for editing.
