Lowell started her acting career with Dangerously Close, followed by a small part in Club Paradise, starring as Robin Williams. The actress went on to appear in roles such as co-starring as Bond girl Pam Bouvier in the James Bond film Licence to Kill (1989) and, beginning in 1996, as assistant district attorney Jamie Ross for two seasons on the tv drama Law & Order, a role she reprised in 2005 as a guest on the spinoff, Law & Order: Trial by Jury, and again on the original series in 2022 when it returned to a 21st season.
